Description

Fulgurite - Petrified Lightning Fulgurite are formed by the intense heat of lightning when it strikes sand. Over 3000 degrees f melts the sand in its penetrating path and it quickly cools into a natural hollow glass tube. Fulgurite are occur all over the world, the composition of sand dictates the different colour of fulgurites. Fulgurites are also known as Petrified Lightning. These fulgurites were found and handpicked in the deserts of Arizona, USA. They are complex tubular structures of unique glass that are fairly wide in shape, may have unfused quartz sand on the rough surface and don’t have any holes.
