Agate Dendrite Drop Pendants
Dendritic Agates colors can be white, to a whitish-gray, or clear while translucent to opaque in clarity. It’s characterized by its brown or black branch-like dendrite inclusions.
Legend has it that agate can protect the bearer against risk and strengthen the bravery of its owners which is why ancient sailors believed that carving agate into amulets would protect them from dying or being lost at sea.
Dendrites a Greek word for “tree-like” are inclusions that appear organic due to their plant-like structure. The impurities crystallize inside the agate in branching formations seeping through fine surface fractures. In some cases, dendritic inclusions may form in spotted clusters rather than branching structures.
The Greeks would use the dendritic agate to get better harvests. Also used as a talisman to have prosperity. The dendritic agate is associated to the Roman goddess Flora (the plant goddess) and forest nymphs called dryads.
