Unakite

Epidosis in Greek means to grow together, this name for greenish tint of one part of the stone. Unakite can be considered a stone of balance and unity, at just a glance we can see that there is harmony beween its two rich colors usually pink and green, or red and green in the case of Unkite Jasper. Pink Felspar or Pink Orthoclase gives Unikite a feminine energy that is opposed to Green Epidote contained in the stone which has a dominant energy.

The stone is a combination or Green Epidote, Pink Orthoclase or Pink Feldspar and Bluish or Gray Quartz. This crystal contains two strong colors; orange and green. Clay is what provides the orange color within the crystal. Unakite is a type of Jasper. Its name is a Greek word which means spotted stone. Another name for this stone is Epidote.

Unaka mountains are home to this stone, which is one of the few locations where this crystal is found.Other than the Unaka range mountains that border Tennessee and northern Carolina, you can locate this stone in New Jersey, Brazil, and China.As the discovery of this stone was not too long ago, its history is not as rich as other stones.
