Natural points, explained
A natural point is a single crystal as it grew, with its own six faces meeting at a tip. Most of the points in this collection are quartz (clear, smoky, amethyst and Lemurian), sold by quality grade and by weight band so you can stock several sizes of the same crystal.

Natural or cut?
Natural points keep their original faces and usually a rough base where they broke from the rock. Cut-base towers stand upright because the base has been sawn flat; some also have polished faces. Fully polished six-sided towers are listed as generators.
Grades and sizes
The letter in a title (A, B or E) is the quality grade of that lot. Weight bands (for example 50 to 99 g) tell you the size range in a size-numbered listing. Numbered pieces ("Unique #" or "U#") are one of a kind and photographed on their own.
Double terminated
Double terminated points have a natural tip at both ends, because the crystal grew free rather than attached to rock. They are popular with collectors and for jewellery.
Natural Point Crystals FAQ
What is the difference between a point and a tower?
A point is the crystal as it grew. A tower (or generator) is cut and polished into a six-sided shape with a flat base.
Why are some points cloudy at the base?
The base is where the crystal began growing on the rock, and early growth often trapped more inclusions. Points usually clear toward the tip.
What do the weight bands mean?
Size-numbered listings give a weight range (for example 50 to 99 g). You receive a point within that range, chosen from the lot.
