What is a Druze?
A Druze describes a layer of crystals that form a mineral crust. This crust may be found on the surface of minerals or rocks, or as a lining on the interior cavity of a geode.
What are Druzes used for?
Druzes are often used as decorative materials in fish tanks and aquariums, or in small decorative fountains. They are also used as paperweights and doorstops. Some individuals even put them in cages with pet snakes, as geodes are believed to help the reptiles ‘shed’ their skins. Many simply like having them in their private rock and mineral assortments.
Some use geodes in pagan rituals because of their talismanic properties. They are used when chanting spells for attracting wealth, interpreting dreams and promoting sovereignty of the spirit. Geodes are also believed to strengthen psychic abilities and ease up labour during childbirth.
